Mr M.M. Pallam Raju, Union Minister of State for Defence, has called for strategies to retain talent and attract bright students from universities to the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation).

Mr Pallam Raju, who visited the missile complex of DRDO here on Friday, expressed concern over the dwindling expert manpower from DRDO and other scientific institutions due to globalisation and increased marked opportunities.

STRATEGIES SOUGHT

While calling for the need to evolve new strategies to attract new talent, he suggested that intense interaction between DRDO, universities and industry to chalk out a mechanism for increased collaboration.

He said there were huge opportunities for the Indian industry in the development and production of high technology systems for the defence sector.
