CCEA nod for SCI tanker purchase

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) acquisition of six long-range product tankers of about 60,000 DWT each at a price of $61.80 million each by the Shipping Corporation of India.

The total investment will be $370 million (about Rs 1,705 crore). The new vessels will e the company's ageing product tanker tonnage. Coal: The CCEA also approved sanctioning of Shantikhani longwall project of Singerani Collieries for a coal production capacity of 1.16 million tonnes per year and a net capital requirement of Rs 249.03 crore. This coal will be used to meet the requirement of thermal power stations of APGENCO and MSEB.
