Bond prices rise by 12 paise

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Oct. 4

Bond prices moved up by around 12 paise on the back of crude prices touching around $58 per barrel. The news of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) investing in the debt market also helped sentiment. "All this will reduce the pressure on the banking system," said a dealer at a private bank. Most dealers expect the market to remain bullish in the coming days.

Total traded volume on the order-matching system was Rs 3,710 crore (Rs 2,405 crore). The 7.59 per cent-10 year-2016 paper opened at Rs 100 (7.59 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 100.01 (7.58 per cent YTM) against the earlier close of Rs 99.89 (7.6 per cent YTM). The 8.07 per cent-10 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 103.05 (7.63 per cent YTM) and ended at Rs 103.02 (7.64 per cent YTM) higher than the previous close of Rs 102.88 (7.66 per cent YTM).
