In the hot seat

Mohammed Yousuf

THE ANDHRA PRADESH Chief Secretary, Mr Jandhyala Harinarayan, is in the driver's seat of a John Moors Morris Ajax Fire Engine during a vintage car rally organised in connection with 40th anniversary of the South Central Railway in Hyderabad on Sunday.

The Belsize Chassis-1914 Pre-World War I model acquired by the Nizam State Railway is the oldest and only vehicle left in the world to complete the road section of the rally under its own steam. The fire engine is now in the possession of the National Rail Museum. Mr D.N. Mathur, General Manager, South Central Railway, and Mr A.K. Khan, Additional Commissioner (Traffic), are also seen.
