Land info system to be extended in AP

The Andhra Pradesh Government is set to prepare a detailed project report to replicate the success of the pilot land information system to cover the entire State.

Following a review meeting of the progress of the first such Integrated Land Information System pilot implemented at Nizamabad, by the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, here today, it was tentatively decided to name the programme as `Bhu Bharathi'.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, it is proposed to complete the project by December 2007 and launch the programme State-wide in January 2008.

Four phases

The State-wide roll out will be done in four phases. In each phase, 4-6 districts from the three regions of Telangana, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra will be selected.

Under this, a register of conclusive titles will be prepared and registration of properties will be linked to the title.
