AP per capita income

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 18

The per capita income of Andhra Pradesh has been put at Rs 25,625 (less than Rs 200 of national average). The State shifts the base year for measuring State Domestic Product from 1993-94 to 1999-2000, becoming the first State to synchronise with the changes at the national level. For the year 2004-05, the per capita income grew to Rs 23,807 in the new series from the estimate of Rs 23,153 in the old series. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Dr Saroja Rama Rao, Director of Directorate of Economics and Statistics, said the change in base year was aimed at capturing structural changes and incorporating results of long-term surveys and census.
