Retailing Blue Clothing to open 4 stores by 2008 Our Bureau
New Delhi , Oct. 30 Blue Clothing Company Pvt Ltd (BCC), the exclusive franchisee for Italian brands such as Versace, Cadini, Corneliani and Sisley, has announced its plans to open four stores, housing the Italian brands by 2008. "We are planning to open four stores, roughly of the same size by 2008," said Mr Dinesh Sehgal, Managing Director, BCC. The five-storey, 2,000-sq ft each store, will house each of the four brands on separate floors.
Investment
"Each store requires an investment of over Rs 10 crore, only in terms of stocks," he added. All the four Italian brands will showcase menswear, while BCC is in talks with other Italian companies to showcase womenwear. "All through these years these brands have shown faith and trust in our service deliverables and commitment. By continuous and persistent efforts by both parties, we are today on the path of expansion, and have successfully launched the first ever brand boutiques," Mr Sehgal said.
Customised store
"Our new store would be customised by these three brands to provide customers with the same international experience and feel that one gets at any store worldwide. Versace Collection has predominantly been a younger, more fashionable brand. Corneliani is serious yet subtle. "Hence, they need separate spaces to showcase their offerings in totality. That is the reason we have taken the initiative to open up our new store to usher in the new collections," said Mr Abhay Gupta, Executive Director, BCC.
