Rs 437-cr Nabard loan for AP

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs 437 crore to Andhra Pradesh for taking up a variety of rural infrastructure projects. At a meeting held in New Delhi on Monday, the project sanctioning committee approved loan proposals for 461 roads, 11 bridges, 18 lift irrigation schemes and 140 bio-diesel projects. With this, cumulative loan assistance from Nabard to the State had gone up to Rs 7,809.56 crore for 17,963 projects. Of this, Rs 4,512.39 crore was released. The new loan included Rs 39.77 crore for bio-diesel plantations in over 16,600 hectares of forestlands. The lift irrigation schemes, covering `distress districts', would get Rs 39 crore.
