Rubber falls below Rs 85/kg

The physical rubber market lost heavily in the weekend session driven by the domestic fundamentals and import fears. According to informed sources major manufacturers were totally inactive in the main marketing centres.

Sheet rubber retreated further to Rs 84.50 a kg from Rs 86 a kg at Kottayam. The market witnessed all-round selling pressure mostly from dealers

Spot rates (Rs a kg) were: RSS-4: 84.50 (86); RSS-5: 83 (83.50); ungraded: Rs 78 (79.50); ISNR 20: 83 (83.50) and latex 60 per cent: 57.90 (58.95).
