Kolkata, Nov. 13

The Computer Association of Eastern India (COMPASS) will flag off its IT exhibition — COMPASS 2006 on November 17, at the Netaji Indoor Stadium here, said a press release. The exhibition is among the largest annual IT events in the country and is expected to draw more than 1,00,000 people. The theme this year is `Digital Convergence'. At this year's event — the 11th in the annual series — there will be around 75 participants, 100 stalls and 20 pavilions spread over 1,160 sq metres.

Mr Pawan Jajodia, Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, said the four-day event would provide a "complete platform", where visitors would have a first-hand feel of computer hardware products and services. "The exhibition also creates business opportunities for the local IT entrepreneurs and is becoming a preferred launch pad for new and popular brand products," he added.
