Off-shore Development US Tech opens centre in Chennai Our Bureau
Chennai , Nov. 14 US Technology, part of the $5.5-billion US-based Comcraft Group, has inaugurated its development centre here. The $12-million (Rs 54 crore) centre on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (IT corridor) was inaugurated by Mr C.Y. Lee, IT Head, DHL Asia Pacific. The centre would have around 500 employees and the company plans to ramp up the number to around 2,500 in the next 15-18 months, Mr Arun Narayanan, Vice-President, Global Delivery, US Technology, told newspersons. The company, which provides IT and business process outsourcing services to Fortune 500 companies, would service clients like DHL from the Chennai centre. For DHL Asia Pacific, the company provides support on IT application and performs application development on Web-based technologies, said Mr Bharath Krishnaswamy, General Manager, India and Asia Pacific, US Technology. US Technology has around 4,500 employees working out of its centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and the US.
