Tata Elxsi is ramping up its presence in Thiruvananthapuram by setting up its own campus here. Mr Nitin Pai, Head - Worldwide Marketing, and Mr R. Natarajan, Head - Thiruvananthapuram Centre, told newspersons here that the foundation stone for the company's three-acre campus has been laid.
Coming up within the Technopark zone itself, from where it is operating now, the new campus is being implemented in phases. The first phase will be completed by June 2007, with a capacity for 500 engineers.
Additional capacity for another 1,500 engineers will be created in the next two phases. The Thiruvananthapuram centre currently has 300 engineers specialising in automotive electronics, consumer electronics and networking.
RECRUITMENT DRIVE
The company is planning to recruit 500 engineers and specialists in the next 12 months, Mr Natarajan said. Both freshers and laterals will be inducted roughly in the ratio 60:40, according to Mr Pai. The company has been regularly visiting various campuses within Kerala and out of it for recruitment.
The company has been growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 40 per cent.
WiMAX and mobile TV are two technology domains where the company expects to see significant growth in the coming years.
