Regional Rural Banks States - Karnataka Kalpataru gets best regional rural bank award Our Bureau
Tumkur , Nov. 20 Kalpataru Grameena Bank has been adjudged the Best Regional Rural Bank for the year 2005-06. The bank, which was merged with the Mysore based Cauvery Grameena Bank early this year, has won the honour among the RRBs sponsored by State Bank of India and its affiliate banks. The bank will be presented the award in Varanasi at a national conference on December 4. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr I.V. Ramanand, General Manager, said Kalpataru had emerged as a strong lending source for farming community and the self help groups. It earned a net profit of Rs 10.96 crore during financial year 2005-06. The bank expects its business to grow to Rs 1,800 crore this fiscal. Kalpataru serves the rural community in Tumkur, Mysore, Bangalore (rural and urban), Hassan and Chamarajanagar.
