Our Legal Correspondent

Kolkata, Nov. 21

A Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court comprising Mr Justice Alok Kumar Bose and Mr Justice T.K. Giri on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Jagadish Prasad Sarda, an accused in the case pertaining to supply of defective blood test kits, which surfaced on September 22, 2006.

In the application, Sarda claimed that he was in no way connected with Monozyme India Ltd, the principal kit supplier to blood banks in the city.

Earlier, brothers Gobinda and Ghaneshyam Sarda were arrested and are now in custody. The matter is under investigation.
