Ahmedabad , Nov 27

The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has posted a record physical delivery of 207 lots (quintals) of cardamom in the November series.

The physical delivery of the commodity during the current calendar year hovered between 100 to 200 quintals, going up to 178 quintals in February and 139 quintals in June, which was an all-time high, according to NMCE of India Ltd in a release here

The hot price, being traded on the NMCE terminals since April 2004, has recorded a high of 137 quintals within six months of its launch in October 2004 and recorded the highest-ever delivery of 211 quintals in July 2004. In 2005, it had peaked at 79 deliveries in March, to pick up again in 2006.

Besides cardamom, the other agri-commodities actively traded on NMCE terminals include pepper, rubber and raw jute, the release added.
