LIC Pre-Chairman's Club Convention

The Eastern Zonal Council of Life Insurance Agents' Federation of India (LIAFI) will hold its "Pre-Chairman's Club Convention" here on Tuesday.

The meeting assumes significance in view of the ongoing agitation of LIAFI that has been going on since 2004 to press for a charter of demands that includes the introduction of a pension schemes for agents, enhancement of gratuity amendment of agents' regulation and introduction of senior agency system, etc.

According to Mr Prafulla Kumar Padhi, Zonal President of LIAFI, the Pre-Chairman's Club Convention, which is held every year on the eve of the Chairman's Club Convention, will discuss the progress of the ongoing agitation and the status of the charter of demands. About 600-700 agents are expected to attend the meeting. The President of LIAFI, Mr H.M. Jain, and its General Secretary, Mr N. Gajapathi Rao, will also be present at Tuesday's meeting.
