`Malgudi Days' on Reliance mobile

You can now watch R.K. Narayan's Malgudi Days on your Reliance handset. Reliance Communication Ventures Ltd has announced the launch of India's first mobi-serial on the Reliance Mobile World.

Birth centenary

The launch coincides with the birth centenary of the acclaimed Indian author. A Reliance Communications spokesperson said, "It is our constant endeavour to enhance the suite of value-added services on the Reliance Mobile World platform, in order to offer a superior experience to our customers".

Huge potential

The company believes that mobile TV has huge potential in India as customers have an appetite for entertainment content.

"This is a step forward to tap the huge demand and customers can look forward to a variety of applications in near future," the spokesperson added.

For accessing the mobi-serial, a nominal charge of Rs 6 per minute will be applicable.

The mobi-serial as well as caller ring back tones, ringtones, wallpapers, video clips can be accessed in the `Hot N New' section on Reliance Mobile World under the `Malgudi Days' option. Each video clip and ring tone download would be charged Rs 7 whereas Rs 5 would be charged per wallpaper download.
