Uses interactive site for a `knowledge journey'

DaimlerChrysler AG, Germany, makers of Mercedes Benz cars, has taken on a new role of being a responsible corporate citizen by educating the future - the youth. The company has designed a new Web Site, www.cedysworld.com, which is all about a six-year-old innocent girl taking a surfer on an exciting knowledge journey into the world of cars. Cedy, the character, is inquisitive, fun loving and keen on new learning.

The Web Site that can also be accessed through an uplink present at www.mercedes-benz.co.in (DaimlerChrysler India website) is a fun-filled interactive site enabling auto folk access an entirely new world of cars. They can ride and drive the amazing machines and gizmos to grasp the dos and don'ts of traffic etiquette.

The site is an initiative from Mercedes Benz to promote and develop a sense of social responsibility in children. A visit to this site will enable kids to learn the advances in auto research and technology apart from creating environment awareness.

Amusing games and coherent information makes the trip fascinating. One of the aims is to indulge children into a process whereby they gather useful insights into the nuts and bolts of the auto world. The site has been done up in a catchy manner to appeal to the young and others who are "young at heart." Company officials said the objective is to make the knowledge gain more playful and cheerful in nature.

Since learning and educating is a continuous process, Cedy's World will be a constantly evolving process.

The company intends looking at relevant social messages in a more interactive manner. One of the social messages prominently present on the Web Site is the `Adventure in India', revolving around the bio-diesel initiative, its social benefits and the feasibility study conducted by the auto majors in the country.
