Electronics body plans to organise shows

The Electronic Industries Association of India and Exhibitions India Ltd plan to organise an international exhibition and conference on Indian electronic hardware and manufacturing services industry next year.

The third international exhibition and conference Indian electronic hardware and manufacturing services industry to be held in Delhi from September 12 to 14, 2007, will showcase electronic components, subsystems, equipment and machines used in the manufacturing of electronic components, assemblies and products, according to Mr. Om Wadhwa, Chairman of the Organising Committed, 3rd Elcomp India 2007.

At a road show here to present the event, he said that 250 exhibitors are to showcase their products and the event is expected to attract about 8,000 business visitors, including 200 foreign delegates.

According to a press release from the organisers, the Indian market for electronics products is over $ 25 billion and is growing at 30 per cent annually. This growth has attracted global players such as Solectron, Flextronics, Jabil, Nokia and Elcoteq to India. In consumer electronics, companies such as LG and Samsung have made commitments to establish large manufacturing facilities, he said.
