New service for South-East Asia

Hanjin Shipping Co, K Line, Yang Ming Ltd and United Arab Shipping have announced a new service linking South-East Asia and India, and Sri Lanka with the Mediterranean Sea and the US East Coast. The port rotation of the new service, named SINA, is Singapore, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Port Said, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore.

Transit time in the important Nhava Sheva to New York market will be a very competitive 18 days. The SINA deploys eight vessels in the 3,500-4,000 TEU capacity range. Providing weekly, fixed week-day service with each of the four lines deploying two vessels, the SINA Service will cater for cargo in the South-East Asia to US East Coast as well as India to US East Coast markets. With East and Westbound calls at Port Said, the new service will also provide competitive transit times to/from Egypt and the East Mediterranean markets, according to the operators.
