Education States - Tamil Nadu Personality is clincher, students told Our Bureau
Chennai , Jan. 2
NEW SETTING: Mr Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India Pvt Ltd, Chennai, at a BL Club meeting at KMM Institute of PG Studies. At left is Mr K.V.S.N. Jawahar Babu, Principal.
"Your future is guaranteed. You can select the field that you want to work in. Opportunities are not limited to IT and ITES industry alone. Every industry is a happening one, growth is all around and every vertical is growing. Therefore, do not limit yourself to IT & ITES alone. Retail is growing, so is telecommunications, real estate and so on," Mr Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter (India) Pvt Ltd, told the MBA and MCA students of KMM Institute of Post Graduate Studies, Tirupati. He inaugurated the Business Line Club and delivered the first lecture under the BL Club series. "Today, one can pick and choose jobs. The huge attrition rates faced by every industry are because of the huge demand for the right manpower," he said. "But to be eligible to pick and choose, one needs to develop personality because this will be the first presentation to your potential employer. If one's personality is not right, then one will get rejected even though he might have other requirements right. " "Get your foundations strong and be thorough with whatever you learn. Some times, the graduates are not able to answer even the basic questions. This shows that either they are under-prepared or weak in their subjects." He advised the students not to compare themselves with others. "Be disciplined. It will take you places. Develop an analytical mind, never take blind decisions," emphasised Mr Anand. Many of the graduates who join higher ranks fail to deliver because they do not have enough experience and exposure. "Therefore, in the first five years do not jump jobs and do not look at salary as a criterion for growth. Stay with your first company and learn," he said.
