Mumbai, Jan. 2 Tata Motors has reported total sales of 48,792 units (including exports) for December 2006, a growth of 37 per cent over 35,598 vehicles sold in the same period year ago. According to a press release, the passenger vehicle business reported total sales of 16,515 vehicles in the domestic market for the same period, an increase of 27 per cent over December 2005. The company sold 10,588 units of the Indica, an increase of 52 per cent over the same period last year while the Indigo family recorded sales of 2,077 units, a decline of 16 per cent. The company's sales of commercial vehicles were 28,179 units for the domestic marketan increase of 50 per cent over 18,730 vehicles sold in December last year. M&HCV (Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle) sales stood at 17,274 units, a growth of 55 per cent, while LCV (light commercial vehicle) sales were 10,905 units, a growth 43 per cent over December 2006.
