Bangalore , Jan. 2

CMS Institute, the IT training division of CMS Computers Ltd, proposes to open 25 new centres next year as part of its plans to expand presence across the country. Currently, CMS Institute runs some 50 training centres through which it offers networking, hardware and systems administration courses.

Mr Varun K. Prasad, Director, CMS Computers Ltd, said majority of the centres would come up in the South, North and eastern parts of the country. CMS Institute, which has a strong presence in the West and South, added around 18 new training centres this year.

The IT training business accounts for a little less than 10 per cent of CMS Computers' revenues of around Rs 600 crore.

"The IT training business is growing and we expect to sustain a growth of around 60 per cent," Mr Prasad said.

The institute has seen a steady rise in enrolments over the past few years, he said. "Over the past two-three years, we have seen a 60 per cent rise in enrolments," Mr Prasad said. Currently, CMS Institute enrols some 600-700 students a month, which is expected to increase to over 1,000 a month next year, he added.

CMS Institute has recently started offering IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification courses. ITIL is a collection of best practices for the management and delivery of IT services and infrastructure. The best practices cover key service management processes such as incident management, problem management, among others.
