MARGINAL FALL: Workers engaged in peeling shrimp at an unit near Kochi. Frozen shrimps made up nearly 60 per cent of the total export earnings during 2005-06 fiscal. Over 1.45 lakh tonnes of frozen shrimp valued at Rs 4,273 crore were exported against 1.38 lakh tonnes, worth Rs 4,220 crore, shipped the previous year. But realisation from exports was down marginally.
