Call rates rule at 6.25-6.75 pc

Call ruled at 6.25-6.75 per cent against previous close of 6.5-6.7 per cent on Thursday. "Call rates are likely to increase next week following the second phase of CRR hike which will tap away Rs 6,750 crore from the banking system," said a dealer at a private bank. In the first three-day reverse-repo auction under LAF, the RBI did not receive any bid and in the first three-day repo auction, it received and accepted 15 bids for Rs 6,460 crore.

In the second three-day reverse-repo auction, the RBI accepted and received 34 bids for Rs 11,770 crore and in the second three-day repo auction, it received and accepted one bid for Rs 125 crore. The CBLO market saw 417 trades aggregating Rs 18,052.8 crore in the 1.5-8 per cent range.
