Airlines BA cuts fuel surcharge for Delhi, Mumbai flights Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 12 British Airways has reduced the fuel surcharge on the flights operated to Delhi and Mumbai, while the surcharge on the flights to Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore remain at the current level. In a statement the airline has said passengers travelling from Delhi and Mumbai would be charged a one-way fuel surcharge of Rs 2,500 and a return surcharge of Rs 5,100. The reduction in fuel surcharge on the Delhi and Mumbai flights comes into effect immediately. The airline operates two flights a day from both the cities to London. However, passengers purchasing a return ticket for travel from Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore would pay a fuel surcharge of Rs 5,950. The statement adds that the fuel surcharge on long-range services will remain at Rs 5,950 mainly because of the higher fuel consumption on these flights.
