New range of machinery to be on show

Madurai , Jan. 17

The International Textile Machinery Exhibition 2007 (ITMA '07) will be held at Munich, Germany, from September 13 to September 20

Organised by the European Textile Machinery Manufacturers' Association (CEMATEX) in co-ordination with the textile machinery division of German Engineering Federation (VDMA) at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, the exhibition with the theme `Place for Innovation' will present a complete overview of the entire range of textile machinery and accessories as well as further products for the textile and clothing sector, especially the latest machine technology and new processes, particularly for the production of technical textiles.

Briefing on the arrangements for the exhibition in a presentation to the press and prospective participants here recently, Ms Katherina C. Hamma, Executive Director, Messe Muencheon Bmph, the organiser of the trade fair, said the product index has been expanded to include new products such as RFID systems. There will also be a new sector for software systems for knowledge management, production management and supply-chain management. Leading suppliers of machineries such as Saurer and Rieter from Switzerland, Stoll from Germanay, Shima Seiki from Japan will participate in the fair.

For the first time, a `Research and Education Area' is provided in which research institutes for textiles and clothing will be presenting their services and innovations.

Notably, in the area of nanotechnology there will be exhibits that showcase new properties and saving potential for textile and clothing in material and energy costs.

Also forming part will be the exhibits on dyestuffs and chemical products for textiles. As of now, 12,067 companies have responded, including 93 from India. Further information could be obtained from www.itma.com, she said.
