New Delhi Jan. 21 Consumers may have to brace themselves for yet another increase in milk prices.

The National Dairy Development Board's Mother Dairy and co-operative dairies across the country are said to have agreed to raise their liquid milk prices by Re 1 per litre, effective January 24.

A litre of full cream milk, containing 6 per cent fat and 9 per cent solids-not-fat (SNF), will henceforth cost Rs 22 in the national capital.

This marks the third such increase within the last one year; the previous two increases were in September and February last.

"The decision was taken at a meeting in Delhi early last week, which was also attended by officials from the Agriculture Ministry," sources told Business Line.
