BestMed Tourism, a joint venture between Kochi-based Focuz Group and Canadian leisure travel company Unbelievable India Tours, has begun its Indian operations with its launch in Kochi.
BestMed Tourism will focus on promoting the medical tourism potential of Kerala and India in overseas markets, especially the West.
Commenting on India's immense medical tourism potential, Mr Mathew Chacko, President, Unbelievable India Tours, said that significant cost differences exist between America and India when it comes to medical treatment. Long waiting time for critical procedures in the US is a matter of serious concern, whereas in India this is almost nil.

Mr P.T. Jose, Chairman and Managing Director of Focuz Group, said that apart from these advantages, a medical tour to India can be an unforgettable experience for the foreign health tourist. During the intervals of the treatment, the tourist gets a chance to be at the exotic tourist locations.
The company has already tied up with various hospitals and resorts to partner in its efforts. Hospitals and resorts are selected after careful scrutiny by a team of experts from Canada. The company is planning an aggressive promotional campaign across the prospective markets very soon, he said
