S.K. Garg takes over as NHPC chief

Mr S.K. Garg has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC). Mr Garg was earlier holding the post of Director (Finance) and additional charge of CMD of NHPC, a company statement said here today.

A chartered accountant by profession, Mr Garg has behind him three decades of experience in the country's public sector undertakings. Prior to joining NHPC, Mr Garg was Executive Director (Finance) in Indian Oil Corporation , where he started his career in 1974 and worked in the areas of marketing, corporate finance, excise and customs and project appraisal, among others, the statement said.
