Kochi Jan 24 The non co-operation of head load workers handling bulk cargo at Cochin Port Trust ended on Tuesday evening following the conciliatory talks held by the Regional Joint Labour Commissioner at the initiative of Kerala Head Load Workers Welfare Board.

Later, the workers registered with the board decided to call off the `go-slow' and the operations at thebulk cargo berths resumed fully after the meeting.

The board officials said that the reported `go slow' was withdrawn unconditionally as it was illegal and without any notice being served on the port trust. They also said that the fate of the suspended workers would be decided upon as and when they submit their applications. The suspended workers belong to the Cochin Thuramugha Thozhilali Union. The delivery work at the bulk cargo berths was hit on Monday and in the forenoon of Tuesday after the workers resorted to stoppage of work. However, the mechanised unloading operations from the vessels have not been affected in the last two days, the officials added.
