Chennai, Feb. 5

ATS Services, a financial services BPO based in New Delhi, and Genesis Corporation, Boston, USA, a global provider of Risk Management Training and Consultancy, have announced a joint venture to conduct risk management training programmes in India and other parts of Asia. Mr Tushar Chopra, Managing Director of ATS Services Pvt Ltd, said that there was a huge paucity of talent in the credit and risk training area. He said the focus of the programme aimed at bank officials would be to prepare them for the risks that may not be evident immediately.

For instance, while there may be no problem in residential mortgages now because the economy was going through a growth cycle — the law of averages would catch up, when there is a downturn. He said other countries had gone through this experience and its partner Genesis had tested its programmes under those conditions. These programmes would be targeted first at multinational banks and private banks operating in India, Mr Tushar said.
