Honour for NGRI director

The Director of National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) here, Dr V.P. Dimri, has been elected President of the Earth System Sciences section for the 95th session of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) to be held in Visakhapatnam, under the auspices of the Andhra University, during January 3-7, 2008. The ISCA also honoured Dr Dimri with the G.P. Chatterjee award in the field of geophysics at the recently concluded Science Congress in Annamalai, Tamil Nadu. NGRI, which Dr Dimri heads, has been ranked top among the 38 labs under the CSIR and has earned a tenth of the total external cash flow of the CSIR, according to a press release.
