The Hindu Business Line : Hutch cuts roaming rate

Coimbatore Feb. 16 Hutch, a mobile telecom service provider, has introduced national roaming without monthly rentals. It also has reduced national roaming rates by up to 56 per cent and no security deposit would be collected for national roaming.

In a release here, the company said the Hutch users would now pay only Rs 1.75 per minute for incoming calls resulting in saving in costs between 54 - 56 per cent, depending on the roaming distance. Outgoing local calls would be charged Rs 1.40 per minute, while STD calls would cost Rs 2.40 per minute. There was no change in the ISD rates and SMS or GPRS usage.

The cut in roaming tariffs was in line with the recent guidelines issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
