Commodity investment meet in Jaipur

A conference and exhibition on "Commodities as an Investment Opportunity" will be held in Jaipur during February 24-25. Apart from examining the outlook for several commodities including agriculture, metals and energy, the meet will focus on commodities of importance to Rajasthan. Wheat, pulses, coarse gains, oilseeds, seed spices and guarseed are some of the important crops grown in the State. There is tremendous trading and investor interest in precious metals and energy products too. Jaipur is an important trading centre for bullion. As the chief guest, Mr Rajiv Agarwal, Member, Forward Markets Commission, will give the regulators' perspective to participants. The commodity futures trading has attracted a lot of attention in recent times. Other expert speakers will share their in-depth knowledge on the dynamics of the market covering diverse commodities. The seminar highlight will be a "price outlook" session where experts will crystal-gaze into the future, Mr Ravi Doraiswamy of Radical Communications, the event organiser, told Business Line. Export and trading houses, commodity processors, trade intermediaries, brokerages, commercial banks, commodity exchanges and service providers are expected to participate.
