Outlook Vertex looking at acquisitions for expansion Priyanka Vyas
"We are firming up our expansion plans to take the company to the next phase with Oak Hills private equity firm. We may look at acquiring mid-sized analytics companies in the range of $15-$50 million with a capacity of around 250-500 seats as part of our strategy to increase the proportion of our analysis business," said Mr Ashish Taneja, CEO, Vertex.
More delivery centres
The company is also evaluating the options of expanding its delivery centres in India, said Mr Taneja, adding that it would only be finalised after the acquisition process is completed by March. The company, whose 70 per cent business comes from voice services against 30 per cent from data analysis, is now considering reducing its voice-based services over the next three years in the Indian market. Globally, its 70 per cent business comes from data analysis and 30 per cent from voice services.
Eyes US market
Vertex, which has focused primarily on the UK market, would also be increasing its focus in the US market, especially North America. The company currently has 1,800 employees at its Gurgaon centre and offers services in banking, finance and insurance, utilities, travel and tourism, and retail among others. It was a subsidiary of UK-based United Utilities and got recently acquired by a consortium of US-based private equity firms led by Oak Hill Capital Partners at an estimated value of £217.5 million.
