Tea Firm trend at Kochi tea sale Our Bureau
Best CTC varieties commanded a price of Rs 63-78, medium at CTC Rs 52-62 and below medium were at Rs 47-49. High grown BOPD were quoted at Rs 90-132, medium BOPD at Rs 48-50 and secondaries at Rs 42-45.
Leaf Sale
There was 2.03 lakh kg of leaf tea on offer. High grown orthodox varieties remained firm, medium steady and CTC varieties were dearer, particularly the smaller broken and fannings. Orthodox grades witnessed good support from exporters. Best Nilgiri leaf fetched Rs 85-120, medium orthodox Rs 43-49 while plain orthodox was not quoted. Best CTC leaf realised Rs 52-55 and medium CTC was at Rs 47-51. Kodanad BOPD fetched the top price among dust varieties at Rs 132, followed by Pasuparai FD at Rs 102, Pasuparai SFD Rs 95 and Parkside BOPD at Rs 90. In the leaf segment, Mailoor OP quoted the top price at Rs 200, followed by Craigmore BOP Rs 181.
