Kolkata March 6 Hewlett-Packard India hopes to augment its market share in the domestic market for notebook PCs from 40.5 per cent currently to 48 per cent within 12 months, according to Mr Nitin Hiranandani, Country Sales Manager, Personal Systems Group.

Speaking to newspersons at the launch of the Pavilion tx 1000 Entertainment Notebook PC, Mr Hiranandani said that the company's share of the desktop PC market was expected to go up from 16.7 per cent currently to 25 per cent within a year.

Mr Hiranandani said that the number of exclusive HP World franchisee outlets would go up from 160 to 300 and from 12 in eastern India to 30-35.

The Pavilion tx 1000 series is priced in the 50,000-90,000 range.
