Outlook Marketing - New Products & Services HP plans to launch laptops made in India Our Bureau
HP, which has begun assembling its desktops in India, could soon roll out laptops made in India. The company is also launching a Pocket Media Drive with 80 GB and 120 GB capacities, which can be plugged into a USB port. The Country Manager - Consumer Desktops, Hewlett-Packard India Sales, Mr P. Krishnakumar said HP accounts for about 41 per cent share in the portable or notebook segment, with Compaq accounting for about 19.5 per cent market share. An HP official also displayed a new notebook PC with swivel feature that comes bundled with Windows Vista premium operating system for Rs 59,990. HP India has about 1,500 partners in the country and expects to rope in 500 more during the year.
