New Delhi, March 7 Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd on Wednesday said its Romanian company Terapia Ranbaxy has received Market Authorisations (MAs) for 20 new products to be launched in the coming months.

In June 2006, Ranbaxy had announced that Ranbaxy Netherlands BV had completed the acquisition process of 96.7 per cent of the top Romanian generics firm Terapia SA. The combined operations of Terapia Ranbaxy established the largest Romanian generics firm.

"The list of MAs granted by the National Agency of Medicine refers to products from different therapeutic areas mainly from the cardiovascular, antibiotics or CNS segments. These are either new molecules on the market like Citaloran and modern formulations like Lamotiran - oral dispersible tablets, Pravator, Quinaran, Terbinaran among others," Terapia Ranbaxy CEO Mr Dragos Damian said in a statement. He added that the new launches reinforced the company's promise to bring value-added niche products at affordable prices to the Romanian pharmaceutical market.

With the commercial department structured in business units, Terapia Ranbaxy has a 1,200 strong workforce, of which 350 forms the largest professional field force in the Romanian pharmaceutical market, said the statement.
