SBI signs pact with S. Rly for ATMs

Madurai March 8 State Bank of India (SBI), Madurai Zone signed an agreement with Southern Railway, for installation of ATMs in eight railway stations in Madurai division, in a function held in the city.

The ATMs are to be installed in Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Kovilpatti, Kodai Road and Ambadurai. The Internet Ticketing Kiosk is also to be established in Madurai, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli and Tuticorin as an add-on service to the train passengers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy General Manager, SBI, Madurai Zone, Mr N. Sadasivam, said the ATMs would become operational in a month's time. SBI has plans to set up ATMs in 681 railway stations across the country, he added.

Mr Hemant Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway, Madurai, in his address, said one more ATM each at Manapparai and Karaikudi will be coming up soon.

The agreement was signed by Mr E. Lakshmanan, Assistant General Manager (Operations), on behalf of SBI Zonal Office and Mr Alexander Gnana Olivu, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, on behalf of Southern Railway.
