Our Bureau

Ahmedabad March 9 Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the "new, tough" Bolero, the second generation version of SUV in Gujarat, in the ex show-room price-range of Rs 4.60 lakh to Rs 5.61 lakh in this city.

Mr Bhartendu Kapoor, Senior General Manager (Sales), who unveiled the new offering, told newspersons that the company expected to double its export of vehicles to 12,500 this year, the largest demand being in neighbouring countries such as Sri Lanka and Nepal. Last year, M&M had sold 42,000 Boleros across India. Additionally, the company also sold about 6,000 specially-built vehicles to the armed and para-military forces and about 4,500 customised vehicles for niche clients. This year, the company expected its revenue to grow by 15 per cent over the last year's.

He said M&M had a 42 per cent market share in the SUV segment in India and Bolero, launched in 2000, had now established as the number one choice in this segment.
