US-based co unveils CricTV.com

Chennai March 15 Cricket lovers now have their own Internet TV network — CricTV.com, a video-sharing platform (similar to YouTube) where anyone can post their personal cricket videos, video blogs and personal opinions.

Coinciding with the ongoing World Cup 2007, California-based PayPod Technologies has launched CricTV.com, a social video network for cricket. CricTV.com was designed and developed by PayPod's 50-member development team in Chennai, according to a company press release.

Co-founded by Mr Sashi Chimala (founder of Qwiky's Coffee), CricTV.com is intended to motivate people to watch, share opinions, special moments and videos on cricket. It would be a place for people to engage in new ways with video by sharing, commenting on, and viewing videos, says a company press release.

Mr Chimala, also a co-founder of PayPod, in the release said there was a response of over 3,000 requests for the registration invites during two month long private testing phase. The site was opened for everyone to enjoy and share, he added.

CricTV.com is completely free. Members can watch videos and share them with friends. They can register for free to upload their own videos and comment on other's videos.

Highlights of the features for CricTV.com members include connect with other cricket fans and cricketers from around the world; budding cricketers can promote themselves on the site and be discovered by coaches and cricketers; upload, share and view videos and keep in touch with their friends online-build private friendship networks, the release says.

CricTV.com will also provide free live scores and news on ongoing cricket matches. Members can also get free live scores and top-10 video clips on their mobile phones, the release says.
