Mangalore March 17 Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) organised its first `Vendor Meet' here on Saturday. The meet on the theme `Success through partnership' saw the participation of key suppliers, consultants and service providers from all over the country. Terming the vendors as business associates, Mr R. Rajamani, Managing Director of MRPL, said that there are lot of opportunities for the company and the vendors to be associated with each other for timely implementation of various projects under the refinery expansion plans. He sought the support of business associates in ensuring timely supply of equipment to complete the projects in time. "Basically, we want a win-win situation for both MRPL and the business associates," he said. Speaking on the occasion, Mr L.K. Gupta, Director (Finance), MRPL, urged vendors to upgrade themselves to remain competitive. He suggested that the vendors get rated.
Supporting this suggestion, Mr Rajamani said that the company is willing to provide details on the parts to be manufactured in Mangalore.
Mr P.K. Athreya, President, Operations, MRPL, said the company has constructed three terminal depots in various parts of the country.
The company also plans retail outlets. In such a situation, vendors have a major role to play, he added.
