Sony Playstation 3 launch on April 27

Mumbai March 21 Sony will launch the Sony Playstation 3 in India on April 27, the company said in a release on Wednesday.

The launch is part of the gaming console's unveiling across West Asia, Europe, Africa and Australasia.

Sony will offer the 60 GB model at Rs 39,990. Buyers will also get free access to the online PlayStation Network, where they can meet and take on other gamers. All the consoles come equipped with giga-bit Ethernet and a pre-installed hard disk drive.

Games for the console will be available from third party publishers.
