Chennai March 21 Dabur Foods has launched Real Twist range of fruit drinks targeting teenagers.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Amit Burman, Chairman, Dabur Foods Ltd, said the drinks are a mix of mango with orange, apple or pineapple. The product is aimed at teenagers, a market segment that has not been addressed in the fruit drinks range.

For Dabur, which is in its tenth year, this entry opens up a market segment that could give it a business of Rs 50-75 crore in about three years.

This market is estimated at about Rs 1,200 crore. Fruit drinks contain about 15 per cent fruit pulp content as opposed to juices and nectars, where Dabur has its Real and Real Activ range, which contain about 80 per cent pulp.

Dabur has a 55 per cent market share in the juices and nectars segment, he said. The fruit drinks segment is growing at about 25 per cent, and Real Twist hopes to carve out its share.

Real Twist will be available in 200 ml, 600 ml and 1,200 ml packs.

Dabur Foods expects to conclude this year with a business of Rs 250 crore against Rs 191 crore last year.

Dabur Foods has manufacturing facilities in Nepal, where it produces about 50 million litres of juices a year; in Siliguri, West Bengal, where it process 150 tonnes of fruits a day; and at Newai, Rajasthan, where it makes Real Twist.
