Punj Lloyd's Gulf contract extended

New Delhi, March 21

The Delhi-based engineering firm Punj Lloyd Ltd has received extension of its contract with New Doha International Airport. The extension will see the company working to enhance the capacity of the fuel system in the second phase of expansion of the new airport.

The extension order is valued at Rs 258 crore. With this approval, the contract value for the extended scope becomes Rs 618 crore. The project would be completed by December next year. The airport will be fully operational by 2015 with a 50-million passenger capacity. The initial phase will begin operations in 2009 to cater to 24 million passengers and 7,50,000 tonnes of cargo per year.
