The Hindu Business Line : Godrej forms jt venture with Swedish co

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd and Swedish-based SCA Hygiene Products AB on Saturday agreed to form a joint venture company to manufacture and market paper-based absorbent hygiene products such as sanitary napkins and baby diapers. The companies will be equal partners in the joint venture which will have a equity capital of Rs 20 crore. The joint venture company will be called Godrej SCA Hygiene Ltd and will set up manufacturing operations in India. The products will be marketed in India, Nepal and Bhutan. "We believe there is opportunity in the feminine hygiene protection and baby diaper market, which is at present in a nascent stage in the South Asian subcontinent region," said Mr Mr A.B. Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, in a statement.
