Credit Market Industry & Economy - Rural Development States - Tamil Nadu Coimbatore gets Rs 6,047-cr credit outlay Our Bureau
Coimbatore March 28 The 2007-08 Annual Credit Plan for Coimbatore District envisages a total credit outlay of Rs 6,046.85 crore, the highest among all districts in the State, it is said. The outlay, according to the District Collector, Mr Neeraj Mittal, is 18.79 per cent higher than the earlier year's outlay of Rs 5,090.25 crore. Releasing the Annual Credit Plan at a meeting of the District Consultative Committee on banking development, he said the allocation for agriculture and allied sectors amounted to Rs 1,608.14 crore, an increase of 18.02 per cent over the 2006-07 plan of Rs 1,362.65 crore, non-farm sector allocation up by 17.25 per cent at Rs 3,518.34 crore and other priority sector share at Rs 920.37 crore against Rs 726.95 crore in 2006-07. The 2007-08 Annual Credit Plan matched with the potential linked plan of Nabard to an extent of 102 per cent, Mr Mittal said.
