CIL pays Rs 1,500 cr dividend

Coal India Ltd (CIL) has paid Rs 699.72 crore as second and final dividend for fiscal 2006-07 to the Government. Earlier this month, the company had paid Rs 800.28 crore as interim dividend. With this payment, the total amount of dividend paid for the current fiscal stands at Rs 1,500 crore, according to a company release. This accounts for 23.75 per cent of the company's total paid-up equity of Rs 6,316 crore. CIL's four profit making subsidiaries — Mahanadi Coalfields, Northern Coalfields, South Eastern Coalfields and Western Coalfields — have been conferred with the Mini Ratna status, the release added.
